The Microphone.  Friend or Foe.

Ok, here's the answer, then I'll explain.  Hold the mic to your chin just below your lower lip and smile.

There you have it, the key to speaking on the mic.  Now, I can't help you with nerves, speeches or what to say, however, this key will help you say it, so that everyone hears and understands you; and you'll look like a pro in the photos.

Where Do I Put The DJ?

You should never put your DJ in the furthest corner of the room.

Why?  It gives the message to your guests that the party or dancing isn't important. So, while you're expecting a party, the guests are simply waiting to go home.

Your DJ should be placed closest to the dance floor, however, not near the food.  There should not be any chairs or tables between the DJ and dance floor.

This will allow several things:

  • better balance and projection of music. (not too loud or too soft)

  • better interaction between your guests and DJ

  • allow the DJ to read your audience sooner and better.

  • better party vibe and atmosphere

  • more dancing, smiles, and special moments.

WARNING:  some venues are not designed for the best party experience; THEY WILL NOT TELL THIS WHEN YOU BOOK THEM, so be sure to consult with your coordinator or DJ, in selecting the best venue for your special day.

For example:

  • some venues will place the DJ on a loft or 2nd floor

  • some will place the DJ in a corner because it works best for the room, but not for your guests that want to party.

  • some will place the DJ in a separate room, where the guests might eat in one room, and dance in another.

Of course, all of this is fine if it's what you want, however, many clients aren't told this until after they book, and of course, then, it maybe too late.
